While many of the topics presented in these tutorials are available in the literature there is still room for improvement: especially when these tutorials rely on open-source software and thus (i) can be fruitful in explaining the relevance and use of seemingly esoteric methods proffered by experts in support of litigation; (ii) clearly illustrate the process relied on by an expert in a manner that is easily reproducible and open, rather than hidden behind expensive commercial econometric, statistical and machine learning packages and platforms. In fact, the lack of explanation on function usage in statistical, econometrics and programming languages used by experts has made it difficult for opposing counsel and opposing experts and to understand and follow these materials.
To this end, the tutorials here were developed to illustrate ans simplify statistical and machine learning tools in support of litigation featuring step-by-step guidance to the Open-Source R-programming language.
